Debut: Halloween 2003
Why Neo?I really liked The Matrix Reloaded, despite what a love of people said. I think it's because I'm a dork and understood all of the techno-babble/religious stuff and it didn't confuse me. :)
The reason why I did the costume was that Halloween was rolling around and none of my other Anime/Video game costumes seems appropriate. I also wanted to be recognized for once. :)
I bought the Simplicity costume pattern for the jacket on sale and I had about 6 years of black fabric laying around which I wasn't going to use anymore. (It was going to be an Alex Low costume from Last Exile, until I decided to use something else.) So what better use for it then to make the jacket from Matrix Reloaded?
I also have to say that I'm really happy with the way the costume turned out. Yes, I just followed the pattern, but it fits really well, and I put in a lot of the things I've learned from previous projects to make this jacket turn out almost exactly how I wanted it.
Reactions:A lot of positive reactions! Yay! I got recognized at work and everywhere else I went. Even when a bouncer was patting me down he was making some funny comments about Neo not causing any trouble inside the club. X-D
Some of my co-workers were also quite amazed that I was able to make the costume myself. A lot of my friends have given me some great compliments as well! :-D
