2002 LosCon Pictures

November 29-Dec 1, 2002

Some friends told me about LosCon this year after Thanksgiving. Since it was a chance to go to a con, and they told me how great it was. Why the heck not? :)

I didn't get there until late Saturday night because of traffic. :( So I missed a lot of the main events. Doh! But I stayed for Sunday and got some great pictures. Hope everyone likes them.

Since this is a sci-fi/fantasy con, there were a lot of Lord of the Rings and Star Wars costumes.
This was really cool. Someone had modified their cars to a Star Wars theme. The pictures just don't do it justice. Not only does it look cool on the outside, but there's an MP3 player and he's working to put a LCD screen with DVD player on the inside. The "laser canons" on the side also are really cool. He said that police officers actually ask him when he will get them working! Got to talk with the creator of the white car and got a picture of him in it. He said that he's been working on the car for 2 years on and off.
Yay, good to see other anime cosplayers at LosCon. I've seen her at a lot of random cons, but finally got talk to her and her family. Even had dinner before we all headed back to the Bay Area. Dressing up from Akira. Hehe, her daughter was having a ton of fun with the balloonist in the dealer room. :) Ahhh, she has someone's eyes! Hahaha, Marvin the Martian with the Mars Lander. It was zooming around the convention center.
This is an amazing costume based on the art of Hajime Sorayama. Her costume was really fantastic, and she's shiny! I got to talking to and she's a fan of anime as well. The topic came up since I was wearing my Squall costume. We're probably going to go to some of the same anime conventions, but she'll have to do the recognizing as I won't know what she looks like. :) More shininess, just in black. :)
Lady Lara Croft. She had banana's for guns, I guess she didn't wanna have to worry about the weapons policy. Hehe. Caught her again at the room parties. At first I thought she was actually part of hotel security. Then I realzed the mid-riff and the leather pants would probably not be the proper attire for a security guard. :> A very nice turkey for the holidays. :) She went to a local resturant with it on her arm, and they told her that she couldn't bring live animals into the place. Hahah!
The Can-Can girls that performed at LosCon. They were very good and very funny. Sailor Mini-Moon... awww, she's giving me cavities... Hehe, he said during the masqurade, that he was the Power Puff Girls stunt guy. This is the first cosplay dog I've seen. :D
Who are you gonna call! Ghostbusters! The proton packs are really cool. They tried to be really accurate with the construction and it just looks great. It has all the flashing lights and everything. This was a really cool costume. Yes, it's just a costume, but someone did ask him to bless her item she brought in the dealer room. :)
A really cool hat, with a moving propeller. Hehe, I love his shirt too. :D The brightest Klingon I've ever seen. She was really funny in the masqurade too. Here she is in more... normal attire. ;D Ahh, good to see the Centari Empire is alive and kicking.
Oooh, fishnets... They are abducting an alien! Actually what they were doing with the alien before... can't be published... ;) There she is again. :D Ooo, red...
A very distrubing room decoration for a Kansas City convention A great room party with a pirate theme! Yo Ho Ho! The singing was actually really good and lots of food. Also signs that say, "Unattended Children Will Be Sold Into Slavery" :D Just some randomness with Tim Powers the author Oooh red shininess this time.
I really loved this outfit in that she was just so plaid from her cat ears to her skirt. It was just so... plaid! Her tattoos are neato too. From Stargate SG-1

Some Renaissance costumes.
